Privacy Policy
Overview
RelateDB is designed to be offline-first. Your schemas and diagrams are primarily stored locally in your browser.
Data Stored Locally
By default, RelateDB stores workspace data in your browser (for example via IndexedDB or other browser storage mechanisms). This means:
- Data may be deleted if you clear browser storage, uninstall the browser, use private/incognito mode, change devices, or your browser evicts data.
- The developer/operator does not automatically have access to your locally-stored workspace content.
Data Collected
We aim to collect as little personal data as possible. Depending on which features you use, we may process account, billing, and feature data. Separately, the app or hosting provider may collect standard web logs (e.g., IP address, user-agent) for security and operational purposes.
Account Data
If you sign up or log in, we process your email address and basic profile information to provide authentication, account access, and plan status.
Cloud Sync
If you enable cloud sync, the app will store and sync your schema data to our backend so that it can be accessed across devices. This may include your workspace content such as tables, columns, relationships, notes, and related metadata.
Share Links
If you create a public share link, a copy of the shared schema or workspace content is stored on our backend so it can be accessed by anyone with the link. Treat share links as public and avoid including sensitive information in shared content.
Payments
If you purchase a subscription, payments are processed by a third-party payment processor (such as Razorpay). We do not store your full card details on our servers. We may store billing identifiers such as your subscription ID and your email address to manage your plan.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used and to improve performance and features. GA may collect information such as pages visited, approximate location (derived from IP address), device/browser information, and interactions.
Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers for analytics. You can learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and you can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-Party Services
If the app is hosted on a third-party platform (e.g., Vercel), that platform may process limited request metadata in accordance with their own policies.
Data Retention
Local workspace data remains on your device unless you clear it. Server-stored data (such as sync data, share link data, and billing identifiers) is retained as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
Security
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for exporting/backing up important work.
