Overview

RelateDB is designed to be offline-first. Your schemas and diagrams are primarily stored locally in your browser.

Data Stored Locally

By default, RelateDB stores workspace data in your browser (for example via IndexedDB or other browser storage mechanisms). This means:

  • Data may be deleted if you clear browser storage, uninstall the browser, use private/incognito mode, change devices, or your browser evicts data.
  • The developer/operator does not automatically have access to your locally-stored workspace content.

Data Collected

We aim to collect as little personal data as possible. Depending on deployment configuration, the app or hosting provider may collect standard web logs (e.g., IP address, user-agent) for security and operational purposes.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used and to improve performance and features. GA may collect information such as pages visited, approximate location (derived from IP address), device/browser information, and interactions.

Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers for analytics. You can learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and you can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Third-Party Services

If the app is hosted on a third-party platform (e.g., Vercel), that platform may process limited request metadata in accordance with their own policies.

Security

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for exporting/backing up important work.
